HAVEN serves and empowers those who are affected by domestic violence and sexual assault. We believes all people have the right to live in a safe, non-violent environment. Through prevention and intervention services, HAVEN strives to sustain safe and healthy relationships.
HAVEN of Tioga County began in the fall of 1984 when three local groups joined together in an effort to provide a network of “safe houses” for local victims of domestic violence. We began with many dedicated volunteers, a phone line, office space donated by a local church, and three private homes providing emergency housing. In 1996, we opened Hope House to provide safe respite for victims and their children. Currently HAVEN provides 24 hour/7 day a week hotline services, empowerment counseling, educational services to the community and schools, legal services and medical accompaniment, all by highly trained, compassionate volunteers and staff.
All HAVEN services are FREE and confidential. If you are being affected by domestic violence or sexual assault, contact their 24 Hour Hotline at 1-800-550-0447.
